Ellen Reichart's current work is an ethereal collection of mixed media monotypes that have the texture of nature with a delicate play of light and color.  Sparse imprints of plant life quietly placed, whisper their secrets of memory and promise allowing the viewer to envision different realities in everyday life.

Each artwork is often run through a printing press on a plate multiple times with a new variation of color, hand drawn elements or foraged plants that Ellen has dried from her gardens or beaches nearby.   Ellen's work is a blend of the relationships between nature, animals and human spirit with unexpected details in facial expression or body position.

 

Her works have elements of playful innocence, peaceful spirituality and a graceful calming of emotions.
